Kaimetsu, I said nothing religious. Don't marginalize me like that.
What is untrue about suicide being a permanent solution to a temporary problem?
If I had a right to kill myself just because I thought my life wasn't worth it, you wouldn't know who I am, because I would have killed myself any time I had a bout of manic-depression. Suicide is against the law, and you cannot argue that that isn't true. But if you have no respect for the fact that suicide is selfish, than what can I say to convince?
Keep in mind I've said nothing religious. Also, let me point out that funeral costs are an expensive burden to place on your loved ones. Also let me point out that psychological help can be very expensive and those with suicides in the family are much more likely than other people to need long term counseling. Also let me point out that suicide invalidates life insurance. It can also cause a loss of property due to less lenient death taxes.
There are plenty of completely logical reasons why suicide is simply selfish. There are plenty of considerations of emotional and compassionate needs that make suicide selfish. And if all that is negated just because anybody thinks they have a right to kill themselves, than pardon my ill logic! |
