Kingdoms (once enough people play Providence), but if they have something like the Dustari drawbridge, make it still possible (if difficult) to get in. It'll be more realistic that way.
"Status symbols": Stuff that doesn't really improve your situation in any way, but is really expensive, and shows that you're rich. It'd give thieves something other than money to steal!
