I'm pretty certain that you can do it completely in-game. Don't click the "Upgrade"-button.
  1. Click Start
  2. Invite a friend
  3. New account
  4. fill in e-mail
  5. check the "I agree" checkbox
  6. Click the "Continue"-button

Then your account is created.
