If he's on his character AND his RC, it should look pretty much like this:

If I double-click Stefan or Stefan's character's head model, what happens is I begin typing a message to Stefan. If I double-click on the standard RC's head model, I'll be typing a message directly to his RC. If I mass message, the message only goes directly to the player.

Maybe further functionality would allow the Admin to choose whether he wants masses to be received by either RC or In-Game chat but for now, I think this will be a helpful feature. The joining of the RC and Character under 1 single player on the playerlist.
