Honestly, people say this all the time. "OMG DOOM WAS SO FUN IT'D BE GREAT ON GRAAL!" But Doom and Quake are some of the most ported games EVER. It's typically the first porting project anyone undertakes. And you know what happens? People enjoy the nostalgia for a few minutes before realizing how horribly outdated the mechanics are and playing a more modern game.
