Yeah, I only touched on the 'why not' briefly but this is also an excellent point. And there is no such thing as a bipartisan server owner. Once you upload it they think they have some sort of power over you and your content.

I've had it happen a few times, now unless it's a good e-friends server or my own I'll only code in pieces and then save it to my computer which isn't really viable for larger projects.
