At the time sands of glory had a larger playerbase even when it was private. I would say it was successful and would have made it classic easily. My friends and I actually only upgraded to gold for the sole purpose of that server. And no, players don't need the iphone servers to be similar to graal servers. We all joined graal without being attached to a server, so i think other players can handle that difficult step of trying a new server.
