You're both looking at it wrong. She has not stepped down, but moved even higher. She has ascended to a point far greater than we can even begin to comprehend. She can no longer interact with us on the same plane, our physical world being too simple and fragile for her to effect without breaking it, instead, she can merely offer her kind words, which hold the weight of divine mandates to us.
