It can make marketing mass messages more fun, if used correctly, and if people actually try to do it. Not the boring old "Selling xyz; Buying abc" thing, but maybe something along the lines of:
"Hello, #n!
I know what you need. More firepower! How about a nice M60? Unfortunately, the market price of that is quite high. But if you buy one from me, you can save 20%! You better not take too long deciding, because I don't have many left.
