It's pretty clear people think the first part is too long, will cut this down.

I don't really see the problem with using a parachute, it's supposed to be something unexpected by the baddy soldiers, it doesn't really make sense to have the character appearing on the ground from behind them, so why not in the air?
The server isn't supposed to be strictly medieval, and again this fits with more advanced technology being lost after an ancient apocalypse.
It is also one method I was hoping to use to spawn baddies themself in certain situations, in the past they'd randomly appear out of nowhere sometimes.

Regarding the amount of soldiers compared to the amount in the battle scene, I had intended for text to make out that this was one of many battles, the first scene refers to it as a "war" which does not necessarily mean one big battle.

The fading was going to be applied when put together yes.
