I think keeping stuff purely cosmetic is the way to go, something that doesn't give a gameplay advantage unobtainable elsewhere. That said, skins for stuff like Rat Form, Bird Shot, Bow, Bombs, Horses, Fishing Rods, etc would be a neat thing to see added as GC prizes instead of just more animations.
