The hat tradig is for giving the game
more depth. Everything
like swords,shields,heads and bodies is
just for the look and has no value. If
someone has a stick or a blade of steel
with is under fire when it is used
makes really no difference in Graal,
which is quite unrealistic.

In Graal2001 I saw that people
like trading and don't really care what
their hat looks like (because its free
and has no meaning), so the hat trading
item has been added.

Imagine there is only one kings crown.
When you see someone with that crown
you know that he is the king and has power.
When someone else becomes the king then
the crown could be given to him in a big
ceremony. This might make guilds / kingdoms
more interesting; right now it's just a list
of guild members.
