Hard to hear this from me, but Thor impressed me with that post(if all of what he said is done so far is 100% factual). On a server in such a crippled, low power state(developmentwise), there is actual progress being made, both in planning and in code.
While I don't agree with some of what is going on. For instance, the drastic reshaping of the overworld, content density isn't as vital as you guys make it out to be, no matter the server, people always congregate in one area of the OW, as well as insides in that area.
Also for custom systems, I really don't want them in excess, I've heard ever dev is going to make the perfect easy to use custom system on classic, from storm, from HR, from, Massokre. In reality, they dont pan out as promised by a long shot. Some custom systems I like, nicknames, map if done right, movement for security, and maybe a few others that aren't vital to the pvp combat classic used to be known for.
Default HD would be the best option in the long term and be more widely accepted by the majority, with an exception of the old serverside HD CTF event, which the systems can be swapped between easily.
Lastly, the economy. I don't like the idea of stalls, they're redundant and barren on even high population servers, as well as being a trademark of 2001, not classic. I'd like the economy to be simple, with simple, yet fun jobs, as well as a more controlled rate of gralat from bush slashing.
Anyway, I am glad Thor is stepping up on the forums to do the necessary PR of a manager, even if its a slow start so far.
The only question is, wheres Storm throughout all this? I certainly haven't seen action from him. Has anyone? |
