I'm quite familiar with the difference between 32-bit and lesser bit PNGs, and the reason I want a new transparency color is so you can use smaller PNG formats and save disk space. There is no reason to be using a 32-bit PNG when your image has few enough colors than an 8-bit PNG would suffice and save disk space.
