I don't see a problem with hiring developers without an application...applications are usually a popularity contest and should be left for simple positions like GP, FAQ, ET, etc. If you know someone's good at what they do, hire them...especially if you know you can trust them.
If you've got talent and a decent history, chances are you will get hired. If not, that sucks...but hiring shouldn't be based on "fairness" |
