its not dumbing it down, your thinking about it from the victims point of veiw, im talking about it from the layers point of veiw, its easy to put down some mines in the middle of the map and waiting for some unsuspecting kid to saunter cheerily into his doomu demise, but i had a lot more fun strategically hiding my proxmines in places and feeling good when someone walked into it because its more of a strategical kill.
