I'd like to say that everyone should be like me and not announce when you're quitting, but just end up disappearing for a long time. Then it's okay to come back anyways. And even if you don't come back... all the cool kids leave without an official goodbye!
But then what would be the point of having "Goodbye" in the forum title?
Though I wouldn't argue against having only a "Hello" forum.
Hell, I never gave my official "I stopped playing but will keep posting" thread. And when I finally stop posting, I probably won't say anything either. In fact that "probably" probably just became a "for sure" just so I can stick to my point.
