saying that "oh that's how it was back then" is just dumb logic, no offense. newb friendly doesn't exactly mean having to hold the hand of the newbie every given second. just make a tutorial that educates the player with what goes on. let them know they'll need to protect themselves. give them a gun for completing the tutorial. etc etc
