The levels on the edge of the gmap are only for show, you'd never be able to enter them because the warp would prevent you from doing so.

Eh... I think that's pretty complicated. First, you'd have to update each of the copy levels whenever you update the actual levels... and you wouldn't see players in the copy levels. They'd just disappear and such when they cross to the other side of the map.
