It's a property it shares with just about any signature.
As it serves no practical purpose, it would require the user to find the perceived benefits to outweigh the value of the space it wastes and the minds it shatters.
What could drive a person into such insanity? It seems that the motivation for using excessive signatures are frequently masturbatory in nature; some wants to be associated with something cool while others wish to downright self-advertise about how awesome they believe themselves to be.
At this point, I find it useful to observe that such regrettable behaviour is commonly found in the ever so emotionally undeveloped young teenagers. When the ego is involved, these individuals have a large repertoire of awful methods available to expand it.
It's really quite terrible.
