Sidewalks arnt always gray that's for sure, in fact I go outside everyday where I live and never see a gray sidewalks.

Also, the roads I see on era seem to be completely perfect (At least last I played). I go outside everyday and don't see perfectly paved roads.

And coming from a Lats point of view, Era has taken its tiles and tried to use them in a "creative" way like people began to do with pics1 which can actually be seen in the way the floors are done in the screenshot.

When making a modern server maybe someone can think among the lines of a real home, a real office, a real kitchen, a real garage, etc. etc; instead of being "creative" just let the tiles look nice in a well placed manor. (I personally think that's very crucial)
