How about a cheap "Jumper Boot" item at the traders' shops, that can allow someone to "jump" over a maximum of two tiles for the cost of all their energy points. A half jump only costs 50 energy, which could be used for getting over the spawn platform's wall, then when it recharges completely, over the cliff. This could be used by anyone, it would only cost ingame money, and it would be a rented item. (Like bowling shoes
) The downside of using this rather than a jetpack, is that it has a longer cooldown, due to energy consumption, the operator, if a trial, can't put it on hotkeys- they need to switch to it in inventory, then take it off and replace it with a weapon shortly after using it, and it's not great in combination with energy weapons of any kind. (Not Plasma, Plasma doesn't use energy.
