I feel the banner draws too much attention - you may want to tone the contrast down. However, the contrast of the banner gives your eyes excellent direction - so that they move down. Sadly, once they've moved past the banner you may find they become lost - as there is no longer any direction given; they are left to wander.

You may want to add a background for the content area - this alone may fix the distraction of the banner.

As far as graphics go - they're perfectly acceptable, however you may want something which is less geometrical on the banner - I find the lack of perspective on the tent and direction somewhat reminscent of Gustave Klimt.

e: Also, the lack of alignment on the navigational menu is somewhat tasteless from a design perspective. I feel it's also needlessly large.
