When I started learning Java I turned off the Auto-bracketing because it irritated me.

Whats the point? Its already been made clear Stefan is the only one who can do it. Don't bother trying to convince other global staff to convince Stefan.

The difference between a car and a horse is far greater than the difference between formatting your code properly by habit and having it done for you automatically.
After having made such a bad comparison I think you're just whining because you're too lazy to indent code yourself.
