Let us not go back to the SoG time xD. I was wrong to even do what I did WITH permission to use the stuff. I should have known it wouldn't have gone anywhere. It just had a high player count and got me kind of excited back then. Like your server is doing to you now. Anyways, that AK was not made by me. That was made by Sage. He taught me the light / shine effect though. (the part when you said how the white was mixed with brown). It is, in fact, not really white. It is just a lightly shade of that brown to bring out a shine effect to the guns edge. After I saw that Sage used certain types of colors for shine effects I gave it a whirl and came up with this back when the AK was made.
EDIT: New Screeny to show some new tiles. Cliffs / Strom Drains / More.
EDIT2: New Screeny to just show the basics of the tiles with a slanted style I'm trying. Didn't add to the shading or anything much yet. Just showing the form of what it would look like with some slanted tiles. Of course with these slanted tiles, you would need slanted outside tiles and snated outside roof tiles and so on.. So this is just an idea at the moment.
