Hmm... well. First off, flat surfaces mostly have one shade, like the top of the ship shouldn't be shaded like that. It gives the impression the roof is a cylinder. You really need to study similar shapes and objects under light to get an idea of how to shade complicated things. Simple gradients aren't going to cut it. Just remember, for every protrusion there is going to be a highlight and a shadow casted. This should really be remembered with the side of the ship so you can give it some definition and shape. |
