Looks like you're on the right track - now all you need to do is ditch your buddies that whine about people who us photoshop and start brushing in the sides so they look smooth.
Your buddies can sit around and talk about how hardcore they are as they spend a week doing something you can do better over 5 minutes in photoshop. Then you can tell them to get a job, and see if their boss gives a **** and a rabbit how hardcore they are.
