Well you misunderstand, I meant that preparing a weapon or dual weilding would be "either or", not both. For example if you have two inferno swords, wonderful, they just can't be both prepared and held at the same time.
So my idea entails no maces, axes, or morningstars to boot. Specifically swords and daggers. What is wrong with dual broads? They are already not two handed weapons, they just have a large image.
Weilding two prepared weapons would be way too overpowered. Draxx was telling me how this should be a starting skill for thieves, they don't have enough skills and they don't have enough cool stuff to make anyone really want to pick them. Dual weilding could be the reason right?
How would this set beginners and oldbies further apart? The skill would be something cool to find later on, something to strive for when you see another player with one. They revamped magic with a huge overhaul so a script and a new gani should not really be that much trouble.
Think like a newbie, You see someone walk by and they have a pair of flaming swords. The first thing you think is "Man! That's what I wanna do!" So your points are valid but I think this would only bring that gap closer. The name of the game is items anyways why not give beginners an edge with two swords!?
So awesome! You could have any combo you wanted, Ice Flaming sword in one hand and Thunder Sword in the other. In a game with no tree-specific skill sets and class-only restrictions, I am actually astonished that this hasn't come up yet.
PS:
You actually made me think about how the gani should be fixed for weapons like the broadsword and actually make it held in reverse or over the shoulder like a two-handed weapon should be. It swings like a regular sword, and just as fast. |
