Yeah you do. If you turn it in to the Social Security department or the White House or something the President and 1st Lady send a card. I got to see his today, was pretty cool.
Unfortunately my Great Grandfather fell a couple of weeks ago and he went to the hospital. There he was put in the ICU because he was having trouble breathing (Pneumonia) and we found out that he has Leukemia (its pretty common for people of his age to have it and it's not as serious as other kinds of cancer) because his white blood cell was WAY up and they ran some tests. He was moved into a nursing home not too long ago and the entire family went to go visit him today. We only got to see him and talk to him. He couldn't talk back because he tore something falling and is in a lot of pain. They give him a little morphine every once in awhile so that he can rest. He's pretty out of it right now but he managed to recognize us and we got a couple of words from him. I'm not sure how much longer he's going to be around but it has been a major blessing that he's lived this long and gotten to see his GREAT GREAT Grandson (my nephew). |
