I make everything large so I can print it at a high quality, in case I want to use it for something later on. The fact that it's large doesn't really affect how long it takes me to do. I work slow when I'm experimenting with new things, like drawing people. I made a million sketches before I even made this crappy version. I kinda suck at drawing, but I try.
