Maybe you don't understand what a shaman is. A shaman acts as an intermediary between the natural and divine. It's doing that that makes them a shaman. Maybe there were/are some shamans somewhere that "casted" some "worldly" magic. Maybe there was/is also some shamans who ate olives, but it's just something they did, it isn't what makes them shamans.
