Why do we have lots of rods and wands, but they have "only" different looks, but same funtion? Wouldn't it be nice to improve them, or give some wands a specially power for some sort of spells?

What about int, wis and pow + on wands or magic resist or some thing along them lines sort sort of like the Sabre of Glamdri but on a wand.
