This assumes two things.
1. The new equipment will have stats highly similar to current high-value items.
2. The pursuit of deflation is an inherently good economic policy.
Even if the above two assumptions proved true, the effect of the new items on whatever equipment they are "substituting" would be less than the effect of the Moon Shield on the Dustari Shield as the only way one could acquire the new substitutional equipment is by sacrificing other pieces (or the opportunity to gain other pieces) of the new substitutional equipment (unless of course the equipment of each kingdom has identical stats).
