By "having a reason to upgrade" I don't think anyone meant "give gold/vip players advantages over everyone else".
The road Graal has chosen is not a very easy one to drive on. They could have either went 100% p2p and offered all of the servers as p2p content (which in my opinion, would have been better than this mess) while giving free week/month trials for people. Or they could have divided classic and gold servers like they have, except incorporate some of the ideas I suggested and also make the gold servers more abundant, more frequently updated, with more variety and fun. All gold servers have to offer is GK and Zone which uses modified GK bodies/systems... I don't like either of them but I love Graal... why is that?

I agree 100% on pretty much everything in your post, and I would say that I love Graal for the possibility to create your own server.. I mean, I dont know of another online game that lets you do that.
