If scripts were able to connect to an offsite SQL Server, the need for a strict control system (and consequently, upgrading all the servers) could be avoided, as a temporary solution at least.
That way, people with offsite webservers would be able to utilize an already existing database, and also be able to access and modify the data to do cool things relating to that playerworld's website. (Such as statistics, and character creation, or whatnot) |
