I think it would be good that a variable could be set to the player from the gmap for map image. It would also be good if you could show PM/toall/etc bubbles. I think you could probably get the x/ys of the players on the gmap already, just don't know if you could match the PMs to their owners, nevermind make the message show up when you click on them.
You could probably use the minimap in the same sense as kingdoms uses a default map, you'd just need to say that Alt+3 shows/hides the map and make the minimap really big.
I don't care so much that he's making it difficult, it's just the fact that he's making it impossible to emulate the old systems with scripted ones.
