Kingdoms Coding Basics?

Can anyone give me an example on the coding used for a basic graal kingdoms level?
To elaborate, how do I make the terrain 3D-ish, basically make the level act like it would in GK..?
Also, can anyone recommend any guides to understanding client/server-side scripting? Seems very confusing to me since it came out, but I wish to learn!
