moving on. I wasnt too happy about the arches having 7 lines, too low poly, so i am rounding them off. in order to do this i have to create an object to fit in the cut i took out, thus filling it, then i have to create an ellipse and substract it from the objects. You'll see what i mean.

Little fact :
You may notice older games having less lines in their shapes. The less lines these shapes have, the less poly count it has. Older games have a lower polycount because systems weren't powerful enough to render. The more polygons a shape has, needless to say the smoother it is.
With new graphics cards MB size doubling approximately every 18 months, graphics are becoming more and more amazing, with the release of xbox 360 and such spearheading the popularity of them. Needless to say, the need for detail is substantial now, so whether your starting out or are a pro graphics artist, on order to survive, you have to work with detail.

the language at the top is in welsh, it sounds a lot like elvish, but it says "Beginning of the tower" as i shall log this forum thread for my As Design and technology work. Comes in handy :-)
