Classic has been a hotbed for drama in the past view months, and even though having my own opinions on Classic's status, I've remained relatively quiet on the public front, with Massokre's apparent quitting, I feel I must express some of my views on specific divisions and events on Classic.
Massokre situation: Massokre, with his progress being slow or fast, is direly needed by the server. Our supply of scripters include me, him, and Storm, obviously Classic has been and is still lacking in the scripter department. While progress seems slow on the outside of things, this is attributed with Massokre's tendancy to space himself out between projects, a lot of work has been almost completed, but not fully. Massokre does work on a lot of stuff at once, but the main point is that he is working.
His well known critics, Kevin and Maximus, have an interesting reputation on this server that should completely discredit any of their opinions on positive development on the server. Putting it simply, Maximus and Kevin are a tumor to classic. These two players are jailed weekly for staff harassment, spamming masses and toalls, massing sites such as tubgirl and goatse, severely harassing other players on various alleged physical imperfections(I think they endorsed a site dedicated to this), and other various infractions of the rules. The fact that they have not been banned for a significant period of time by Storm baffles me, players like this that have been jailed for these breaches in the rules 15-20 times in the span of 2-3 months should not be allowed on the server.
Another issue that concerns me is the two crippled staff divisions and their administrators that have been inactive or barely active for months. These two divisions are FAQ and GP. Both Thermo and Stryker are online once every two weeks at best, with Thermo disappearing for a couple months previously. Both FAQ and GP have had 2-5 active members for about a year. These administrators have not been dealt with Storm visibly at all, and when I try to approach him on this issue(I personally, don't like to see FAQ, a division I brought back from 3 to 17 members in 2001, go back to what it was), he blows me off, and with no Asst. Manager, there is no second person to go to.
Holes in FAQ and GP coverage are gaping, with no quests on the server, the lack of FAQ coverage is not as important as that of GP's holes in coverage. I can safely say, without Bell, the Asst. Admin of GP, covering the server when she can, there would be close to no GP coverage on Classic at all, and it has been this way for months. In my opinion, Bell should have been moved to GP Administrator long long ago. However, Storm in my opinion, is very hard pressed to get to make decisions such as these. I myself have talked to Storm about big events projects such as a serverwide guild war, only to be blown off by an "I'll think about it", and not hear about it again for months.
