seteffectmode?

Was seteffectmode deprecated? I can't get it to work. It will seteffect but not change modes.
Also, is there any possibility that this functionality would be put into showpolys?
j/w because before the all of the Classic level conversion went to nothing, it was what I was using to replace setbackpals, and I'm trying to bring back underwater levels. |
