There's a difference between blantantly disobeying orders and making tiny mistakes without thinking about it.
Of all people who apply to LAT, perhaps 5% will make a stupid mistake and end up rejected.
Of those rejected, perhaps 10% are good enough to get accepted and thus improve the team.
By these statistics, allowing for small mistakes will make the LAT effectively 0.05% better. And that's better than a kick in the teeth. |
