Hello! My name's Skyld, and for the rest of this post, I am going to teach you why you should not disable DirectX.
DirectX is a set of APIs designed to let applications draw accelerated graphics either in 3D, or on a flat surface. It also allows network gaming and sound to be implemented, but at this time, that is irrelevant.
Graal uses these DirectX APIs to draw everything you see on screen in the Windows versions of Graal, besides the external windows, such as Options and the Playerlist.
So, why is it bad to disable DirectX components before playing Graal?
Simple! Because
Graal won't be able to run.
Also note, that if you are using Graal 4, DirectX
Light Effects are compulsory. This is actually a good idea, since people won't be able to ruin good levels by disabling lights. Yay!
