Also, Bel'la has continually done things that are strikes against them, rather than for them. So even if the gear issue was resolved, you'll still have a bunch of people irritated with them. There's too much that has been done already that won't allow the Olpynians to redeem themselves. Besides, it's not like they even would if the choice was sitting in front of them.
