Don't attack me to death for this idea, but when an account expires on GK or a person sells one of the items to an NPC on purpose, perhaps notifications could somehow come to the EMs in an automated fashion so that they know which ones need to be re-evented to keep them in circulation and which ones don't.

It'd make rare item events happen more than every, say, 3 months. Before the Cowboy was given away, the last thing I could recall being evented off was the Talefung. And that was a long time ago.
