We didn't invade Samurai, which is why b-mode wasn't required (although Criagus has a good point about boarding and taking ships, so next time in a similar circumstance I will require it). This part of the event was meant to be a naval engagement with the huge Samurai fleet - some good ole bloody fun with Samurai Renjin and his boys. After all, who could advertise fielding a big fleet on forums and not expect to attract the attention of bloodthirsty Pirates.
Overall, I thought the battles and interactions were handled well on both sides, with a few RP violations that can be dealt with and learned from.
