Sounds like a good plan to me. If you do that, and you get pk'd and lose your stuff, that's your problem. You took the risk of going B-mode and going AFK.

"For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction."
Going B-mode and then choosing to go afk, while leaving the client going, was that person's action, and being pk'd repetitively, thus, losing their plat/gems, was the reaction.
