For those that run at higher resolutions, of course you'll see lag....and frame skip too.....the larger the surface, the more it has to draw, thus making it take longer to update and refresh
I would force graal on 640x480, but because the way my laptop's video drivers are, its looks mind garbled a bit...but still visible, just kind of skewed and messy looking
