If you're making a playerworld to get something back in return then no, you're wasting your time and efforts.

However, if you are making a playerworld to entertain other players and you do enjoy channeling your creative energy into either building levels or designing graphics (etc.) then yes, what a wonderful way to show people your passion for games.
