I don't seem to understand, why would his parents want to live in such a hostile enviroment, potentially endangering their child(ren?). That does not make any sense to me. When did I say I wasn't glad I have a healthy and good life? I even said I could have it worse. I'm not telling you to have pity on me, I'm saying that if it was such a bad neighborhood, his family should do the responsible thing and plan ahead and get out of the place.
As for this,

it has to be one of the most hypocritical things I have ever heard.
Aside from it being hypocritical, how do you know if I am spoiled?
I am 14 and I have a job. I pay for almost everything I get. I save my money and put it to good use, not to buy some trivial things. I already have $8,000 of my own money saved up for a car when I turn 16. Not to brag, but I find myself quite intelligent. The lowest grade I have ever gotten on a report card was a 92%. Ever. If you don't believe me I have all my cards sitting up in my room, I'll glady scan them. I just finished 8th grade and I have been offered a $1000 scolarship to the private high school of my choice. I could go on with all my academic achievments, but I won't. Don't tell me I know nothing about the "real life" because you are so very wrong.
