Same here. Most of the time it is "good enough". Plus, clientside interpolation could potentially go out of control if you have 100 people using boomerangs like mad (especially if on an iPhone).

The RANDR error is benign (X11 configuration...

The RANDR error is benign (X11 configuration error... but gonstruct will still at least run). The other error just looks like a permissions issue. For starters, you can try:
$ sudo gonstruct

Gonstruct Macport

Here's a MacPort for gonstruct that *should* work. I've tested it with a clean build using 64-bit Snow Leopard. Now, if you have a Mac… I need you to test it too (please :).

Yeah, I plan on submitting the port to MacPorts when I'm finished (along with premake4, which I had to also port along the way...). When that's done, building/installing gonstruct with MacPorts...

I was trying to create a MacPort for gonstruct, but I hit a road bump. It looks like there is an incompatibility between gtk2.20.1 and gtkglextmm (on Macs, at least).

I don't know much about packaging for Mac either. But, one option could be to create a macport for it.

I could attempt to make one... I've done a lot of FreeBSD porting so hopefully MacPorts...

I've gotten gonstruct working on a Mac. I basically just used MacPorts to install all of the dependencies. I didn't use it extensively, so it's possible it could have been missing some...

WhiteDragon summed up what you would need to do with tile layers. Checkout gonstruct (http://londeroth.org/~fry/gonstruct/) for a graal level editor that supports tile layers.

The Graal client supports 24-bit pngs (16 million colors), but the offline editor only supports 256 colors. Some servers have two versions of a tileset: one for online, and one for offline editing.

I used to use a 32x32 "nothing.png" that was basically an invisible image, and it worked. But, the showimg solution is probably better anyways.

I think he means set the image of the NPC to something that is "invisible". As long as the shape is set, it should still trigger.
